Prof Sanlie Middelberg, PhD, FCMA, CGMA is a Professor in the School of Accounting Sciences, Management Accountancy programme at the North-West University in South Africa. Prof Middelberg is a South African National Research Foundation (NRF)-rated researcher (ratings are “allocated based on a researcher’s recent research outputs and impact as perceived by international peer reviewers”), part of CIMA’s global Research & Development Panel and chairs the CIMA Southern African Regional Research Centre. Her corporate experience includes 18 months in the investment banking sector in the United Kingdom and five years in the petroleum industry in South Africa. Her research domain focuses on qualitative research in management accounting and finance. Prof Middelberg has published 26 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, seven book chapters, 11 conference proceedings and seven articles in popular magazines. She serves on the Editorial Review Board of the South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences; Agricultural Finance Review, Cornell University, New York State, USA; and Studia Negotia, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
