Professor, Monash Business School, Australia (Co-Investigator)

Professor Nick McGuigan is an award-winning educator who works as an innovator, instigator and disruptor at Monash Business School to create future‐oriented business education programs that focus on innovation, creativity and design thinking. He holds joint positions as Professor of Accounting and Director of Equity, Diversity and Social Inclusion at Monash University, Australia and Professor of Accounting at Rostock University, Germany. Nick is directly involved in applied research, focusing on the enhancement of educational programs for accountants and business professionals.

His research interests include student conceptions of learning, integrated thinking and reporting, creativity and innovation, systems design and behavioural change, where he is a sought-after international speaker. Nick is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) holds an Australian National Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, an Australian Business Deans Council Award for Learning Innovation and is the recipient of the prestigious Aspen Institute Global ‘Ideas Worth Teaching’ Award (New York).

Nick is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of CPA Australia. He plays an active role within the accounting profession globally, serving on boards and committees of professional and academic accounting associations across 5 continents where he regularly hosts events, contributes to panel discussions and creates up-to-date, engaging member content.
