Natalie T. Churyk, Ph.D., CPA is the PwC Professor of Accountancy at Northern Illinois University (NIU). She is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Accounting Education and serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting. She is incoming American Accounting Association (AAA) Vice President – Education. Some of her priorAAA leadership positions include: President, AAA Teaching, Learning and Curriculum (TLC) Section; President, AAA Gender Issues and Worklife Balance (GIWB) Section; Co-President of the AAA Midwest Region; AAA Council; Chair, AAA Outstanding Accounting Educator Award Committee; and member of AAA Strategic Leader Region Committee/Pilot Task Force.

Dr. Churyk has been awarded multiple research, teaching and service awards from her university, AAA sections/regions, and professional organizations. Her most recent honours include: 2023 GIWB Best Paper Award, 2022 Illinois CPA Society Outstanding Educator Award, 2022 AAA TLC Best Paper Award, and 2021 AAA TLC Section Hall of Honor Award.

Professor Churyk has received research grants from PwC, the Institute of Management Accountants, and her university. Her research focuses on education, financial reporting, fraud/ethics, and auditing. She has made over 150 presentations including keynotes and panels in the international arena. Her work appears in many academic and professional. She also co-authored three John Wiley & Sons’ published textbooks including Accounting and Auditing Research: Tools and Strategies, 10 ed.
