Ayodeji Michael Obadire

Dr. Ayodeji Michael Obadire is the Portfolio Manager for Research and Innovation at Botswana Accountancy College (BAC) in Botswana, where he oversees research and innovation initiatives, fostering a culture of research excellence within the Institute. Holding a PhD in Finance and Accounting and an MCom in Cost and Management Accounting from the University of Venda, South Africa, he also completed training in the Fundamentals of Statistics at Stanford University, USA. Dr. Obadire is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).

Dr Obadire serves as an accredited lecturer with the University of Derby (UK) and Sheffield Hallam University (UK), specializing in strategic management, corporate governance, and ethics for post graduate students. Within BAC’s School of Finance and Professional Studies, Dr. Obadire is a senior lecturer, with a specialty in risk management and case studies for aspiring Chartered (Management) Accountants. He teaches the case study module for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Through his insightful instruction and guidance, he has equipped several students with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to excel in their professional careers.

His research interest spans corporate finance, green banking and finance, non-financial reporting, firm valuation, corporate governance, cash distribution options, banking regulations, and accounting and auditing education. Driven by a passion for shaping the future of finance, he actively engages in research, review, and technical committees globally, serving as the Chairperson of the Institutional Review Board at BAC and a core member of the Scientific Committee at North-West University (South Africa). Recognized for his expertise, he is an external examiner for postgraduate programs with several South African Universities and a reviewer for SCOPUS-indexed journals such as the South African Journal of Accounting Research and the International Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Performance Evaluation, among others. Dr. Obadire remains a dedicated force in advancing innovation and shaping the future of finance and accounting practices.
