Dr Katie Strudwick is Dean of Teaching and Learning at the University of Lincoln, and Associate Professor of Criminology. Kate leads on institutionally embedding teaching excellence through staff development programmes in the Lincoln Academy of Learning and Teaching (LALT). LALT is a community of practice, representing all academics and support staff who teach, leading on initiatives and projects for sharing good practice, exploring new pedagogies and student engagement. Kate’s leadership of LALT steers pedagogy proactively responding to the needs of the University. Kate further leads of Teaching and Learning in the Office of Quality, Standards and Partnership (OQSP) team. assuring and enhancing the quality and standards of the University’s awards and programmes.
As a long-standing member of the British Society of Criminology’s Learning and Teaching Network, previously chairing the network, and Principal Fellow of the HEA, Kate’s expertise focuses upon student engagement, employability and partnerships with Policing. Kate is well known in the sector as an authority on student engagement and pedagogy, regularly presenting at conferences. Kate has published 33 articles and four book chapters on co-creation and co-development of teaching and learning through Student as Producer. She has co-edited Teaching Criminology and Criminal Justice – Challenges for Higher Education (Palgrave) in 2022.
